OUR BELIEFS

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See II Timothy 3:15-17.) We believe that heaven and earth shall pass away, but his word shall never pass away. Preaching and teaching should always be Bible centered, the Bible is foundational to the life of a Christian.

OUR BELIEFS

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father in creation; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by regeneration. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

OUR BELIEFS

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

OUR BELIEFS

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4;Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

OUR BELIEFS

As Christians we strive to exemplify the words of Jesus Christ to love God with all our hearts, soul, mind, and strength. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. After receiving the Spirit, a Christian should demonstrate and walk in the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). The Holy Spirit is the love of God shed abroad in our hearts. Loving and serving people are essential marks of the Christian faith.

OUR BELIEFS

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (See I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)

Our pastor

Jason Sims is the Pastor of Redemption Apostolic Church. Jason felt the call into the ministry in September of 2000, but being raised in the home of a pastor, he knew what that entailed and did not feel adequate or even willing at the time, to make that commitment. God in his patient way continued to speak to him and lovingly order his steps and open doors that enabled him in December of 2003 to become the Assistant to the Pastor of Faith Tabernacle. In 2012 he was blessed to be voted assistant Pastor of FTC a role he gladly fulfilled alongside his father for 10 years and together they are privileged to shepherd a growing flock.

In March of 2022 Jason was officially elected as Pastor of Faith Tabernacle UPCI and together with his beautiful wife of 23 years, Jenika, they along with the help of their children, extended family, an amazing leadership team and a wonderful church body are endeavoring to be a light that shines in the darkness of our area.

God began to deal with Jason in January of 2015 regarding the name of the church, Faith Tabernacle UPCI, and through several dreams and dealings with other Men of God Jason felt that the message God wanted us to convey to our city was one of Hope, Restoration and REDEMPTION and in September of 2022 we officially became Redemption Apostolic Church.
Redemption is an Old Testament “city of refuge”. A place where the broken, bound, sick and dying of this world can come and find restoration, freedom, healing and New Life. A place where they can find “REDEMPTION”.

Isaiah 43:1. “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee…”

OUR BISHOP

Bishop J.B. Sims was elected pastor of Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church January 13, 1998. He was born in the city of Tallahassee Florida. He has been in full time ministry since 1991. He met the love of his life, Jo Ann Sims in 1977 in Gainesville Georgia. They have been happily married for 43 years. Their ministry first began at the First Pentecostal church in Gainesville under the leadership of Rev. Charles Duke, where they were actively involved in bus ministry, outreach, bible studies and Sunday school. They served the Gainesville church for five years until moving to Tallahassee Florida where they first served under the direction of Bishop Larry Sims in the capacity of youth ministry. In 1987 Rev. J.B. Sims was promoted to Assistant to the pastor where he served under his brother until assuming the work in Foley Alabama where he has faithfully served for twenty four years. He served as the Alabama Districts Apostolic men’s director for eighteen years before resigning in 2021. Bishop Sims has led and completed many missions’ projects including the H.O.M.E. International children’s orphanage in Guatamala City. Bishop Sims writes a daily devotion each day which he electronically sends out to the flock. The flock then sends the devotion to many contacts across the world to spread the gospel message of hope far and wide. He hopes to publish them all in a book someday soon.

Bishop and Sis. Sims have two children, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Jo Ann Sims is a first generation apostolic with the utmost passion to see her family and extended family set free from bondage and serving Jesus. She has served faithfully along with her husband. She is an anointed speaker with a powerful testimony. She has also served as the Alabama district section 7 ladies ministry leader. The Sims’s vision for the church is to evangelize the world and to disciple the saved. They are committed to the goals Jesus set for his people, to inspire, to train, and to change the world around us.
